SADC Technical Committee on Fisheries held 41st Meeting.
March 2024 – Sandy Davies (Technical Director) attended the 41st meeting of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Technical Committee on Fisheries which took place on 26 to 27 March 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Head of Delegation of the SADC Secretariat made remarks and provided a brief on the objectives of the meeting and expectations from the Secretariat, in terms of outcomes and recommendations that the Ministers approved on the last meetings. The status of domestication and implementation of the SADC Protocol on Fisheries was discussed. Sandy presented the different project that NFDS is assisting on through their work with Stop Illegal Fishing, these being the SADC Atlantic and Oceans Vigilance projects.
