NFDS offers broad expertise and extensive experience in maritime affairs. This ranges from the development of international policy through to the design of national programmes to implement and monitor this policy.  Our team includes ships officers and a range of maritime specialists covering legal, economic, environmental, social and technical aspects. Consequently we have and are able to offer policy advisory services related to compliance with international legislation and agreements and project services in the development of maritime protection including; fishery compliance, coastguard duties and environmental protection.  Our approach often demands working with and linking maritime institutes from developed countries with those in our partner countries.  NFDS has been tasked to draft maritime legislation and contribute to the development of such legislation.  We aim to maintain international standards and to develop the means to implement these into developing country situations without compromising the safety of those who work at sea.
