NFDS has developed, rehabilitated, operated and managed harbours, ports and ship yards in a variety of situations including several long term programmes in Mozambique and Tanzania.  NFDS offers capacity in the planning, change management and reorganisation of maritime infrastructure to improve port operation, cargo handling, ship agency, operation in compliance with international maritime regulation and administration.  One of our core approaches to such projects has been to build local capacity through training and related overseas placements to build long-term national ability to manage new and improved infrastructure.  This has been successful in ensuring that once we have completed our contribution, the development continues to function in an orderly manner.
