NFDS has, over the years, become increasingly involved in a wide range of fishery management activities: this is perhaps a reflection of our teams growing expertise in this area and also a reflection of the global trend to take an integrated approach to fishery management. No longer can specialised areas of fisheries work in isolation – a holistic approach is required in every situation and the development of links and feedbacks is required at every turn.  NFDS has risen to this challenge and has developed a team with expertise in fishery resource assessment, marine and fishery science, development and implementation of management plans and legal and socio-economic analysis.  NFDS can implement programmes in all areas of fishery management and will incorporate the holistic approach into all their fishery projects.
