The need for reliable data collection for scientific and compliance purposes can not be over emphasised in the development and monitoring of fisheries management frameworks.  Our experience covers designing and developing data collection programmes for a range of situations from artisanal fresh-water lakes to large industrial fisheries.  We have provided services to develop programmes for scientific and compliance data collection and supported this with training programmes and information management requirements to sustain the programmes.  NFDS provides assistance in design and implementation of data collection programmes, equipment procurement, training, vessel charter, the assessment of information needs and full programme support.
